Injection Molding Team Leader

Position Overview:

RSS is seeking an Injection Molding Team Leader for a facility in Columbus, Ohio that specializes in plastics injection molding for automotive and other industries. This position works at a fast pace on projects that require precision. S/he will be standing for most of the work day. Jobs in manufacturing involve exposure to chemicals, loud noises, and equipment that is both automated and manual. S/he are expected to follow employee safety standards by adhering to both environmental and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations as well as maintain Quality Standards and Objectives.

Pay beings at $18/hour; pay commensurate with experience

Schedule is 3rd Shift, 9:30pm-6:00am, Monday-Friday

Position Responsibilities:

  • Startup/shut down and basic troubleshooting/running of auxiliary equipment
  • Lead a small team in the execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot and respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
  • Perform Process/Mold Technician functions as necessary to meet production needs
  • Setup and run machines if necessary to maintain quality standards and production demands
  • Perform color changes and job changes according the production schedule
  • Validating parts for quality (flash, short shots, color, quantity, etc.)
  • Identify each box with production label
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Fill, pack, lift, and stack shipping cartons with a final weight of approximately 50 lbs
  • Consistently inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality (matching print specifications when required or specified) and will report any discrepancies to their immediate supervisor or quality control immediately
  • Enter data pertaining to job progress on Production Reports or other documentation as required. Includes ability to count, record, and use calculator
  • Position will wear protective gear (safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, and steel toes) as regulated by OSHA
  • Follow all applicable guidelines and standards including but not limited to policies, procedures and practices
  • Maintain a professional, polite and courteous team approach in dealing with others and work in teams as required or requested
  • Assist during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition from crew to crew

Position Requirements:

  • Must be dependable; meaning on time and present on every scheduled work day
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift consisting of 5 day 8 hour shifts from 9:30pm to 06:00am
  • Ability to work independently as well as working with others effectively as a part of a team is essential
  • Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills; ability to work well in group situations; ability to deal effectively with conflict in mature & consistent manner
  • Flexibility to work voluntary overtime if asked
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in injection molding at process technician or team leader
