RSS Staffing is seeking Maintenance Mechanics for a facility in Columbus, OH that specializes in producing top-quality food containers and packaging. Products include plastic plates and dinnerware, paper cone cups, microwave safe containers, to-go containers, catering supplies, and compostable products. This is a fantastic temp-to-hire opportunity with the leader in premium quality, single-use food packaging products.



Maintenance Mechanics maintain and repair all equipment throughout the plant. They efficiently adjust and change out tooling on all thermoformers and maintain a properly stocked tool box.



Starts at $15-25/hour; pay commensurate with experience



Employees must be able to work all shifts.

Day shift hours are 6am-6pm

Night shift hours are 6pm-6am

Employees work 3-4 days per week, 12-hour shifts, and every-other weekend.



  • Performs each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Break down and set up all thermoforming production machinery to the standards set for cycle and quality
  • Cleans and prepares all tooling for set up
  • Makes minor repairs to the equipment or tooling during set up
  • Proficient in one or more skills and be familiar with all facets and procedures of plant operations
  • Repairs faulty production and related plant equipment with a minimum of supervision if no set up or tool repairs are required
  • Maintains necessary records and recommends modifications and changes to update present machinery and tooling conditions
  • Maintains a full supply of tools to enable him/her to perform his/her normal duties
  • Performs work in a safe manner to personnel and equipment
  • Maintains a good attendance attitude
  • Maintains a good safety record

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to obtain an Industrial Equipment License within two weeks of hire date
  • Minimum 4-year plant experience including electrical
  • Speaks and understands English
  • Performs basic mathematic calculations
  • Understands and uses micro-phaser control panel screens
  • Recognizes, identifies, and solves problems with machines without assistance
  • Uses common sense
  • Maintains level head and thought process during a crisis
  • Differentiate between “good” and “bad” quality



  • Works scheduled hours (possibility of overtime and/or weekends)
  • Operates industrial equipment for most of the shift
  • Climbs ladders
  • Stands and walks for long periods of time (up to 12 hour shifts)
  • Bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, twist, squat, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift
  • Lift to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day
  • Performs job assignments outside (silos, etc.)
  • Multi-tasks throughout regular shift
