RSS Staffing is seeking a Press Brake Operator for a facility in Columbus that specializes in fabrication, machining, welding, and finishing of precision parts and assemblies. The inventory of materials includes steel, HR & CR, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, galvaneal/galvanized, aluminized, and plastics. This is a fantastic opportunity for a long-term career!

Position Overview

The Brake Press Operator will work specifically with an 85-175 ton CNC Amada + Toyokoki Brake Operation. The position takes place in a unique, precision fabrication shop environment. Employees will be required to set up machines and perform operations. Accurate blueprint reading and interpretation of instructions, drafts, and written procedures are important.

Hours: 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm-2:00am. Training will take place on 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Pay: Begins at $14/hour up to $16/hour; pay commensurate with experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, and reach continuously
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Overtime and weekends may be required with or without notice

Position Requirements:

  • Top notch blueprint reading and interpretation skills
  • Brake Press Operation experience is required in some capacity; applicants must have further training and experience past operating a machine
  • Ability to work within tolerances of (+-).005 and ½ degree
  • Ability to accurately measure and record results of part dimensions + characteristics using calipers and mics
  • Ability to adjust offsets
  • Demonstrated detail orientation
  • Ability to work well independently and on a team in a Job Shop environment
  • Ability to follow and retain instructions
  • Familiarity with ISO procedures/quality standards
  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment skills test
